During a political campaign, many candidates have an online presence (such as a website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, ...) which they use to campaign. Many of these presences are temporary - by design they exist for the sole purpose of winning a specific election. After an election has been won (and particularly if it has been lost) these presences are neglected or deliberately taken down.
This project aims to archive as many of these presences relating to the US 2018 Mid-Term Election as possible, before this deletion happens.
Discovery
An initial discovery attempt was made by scraping Vote411.org which lists profiles of election candidates. It should be noted Vote411 receives information when supplied by candidates, so many profiles were incomplete.
