Bazaar.tf (previously known as TF2Bazaar) is a website that facilitates trading of Team Fortress 2 & other Steam items like TF2 Outpost and backpack.tf's Classifieds section. Though it allows the posting of standard trades, Bazaar.tf also lets its users post auction listings, as well as "Buy Now" trades that use one of the site's bots for unattended trading.

Shutdown

Bazaar.tf announced through its Steam group that it would be shutting down in a staggered fashion, with new trades being cut off on September 1st 2018, followed by a complete shutdown of all activity on December 1st.

bazaar.tf : this is the end, my beautiful friend[IAWcite.todayMemWeb]

After taking trading to the next step, killing Hitler, saving baby Jesus from a cult of hungry mormons and destroying the one ring with some hairy midget folks, we feel as we did enough and it is time to step down before we become a sell out brand like the rest of the world.

Yes, it is true:

Bazaar is closing its doors on December 1st, 2018.

Below are our very important milestones until the grand finale(trust us it will be good!).

Tomorrow: Tomorrow I will probably receive my RTJ merch package and that makes me a very happy emu!

September 1st, 2018: The closure of all new trade influx. You will only be able to buy from and withdraw via existing BuyNow trades so make sure you made all of your trades by then!

December 1st, 2018: This date is the complete halt of all activity. All trades will be closed and the forums will go into read-only mode. Is this the end? Maybe!

December 31st, 2018: [Information redacted]

We will of course be posting monthly reminders to mind your buy now trades as come December 1st, all non-claimed items held by our bots go into our giant monopoly of rich fat cats bathing in TF2 items(or maybe not????)

Seriously though, please make sure all your items are withdrawn by December 1st!

Much love, thank you for all the fish and stay tuned for the realest non-corporate shutdown any site ever had. In it for fun, remember that!

Yours truly (and cordially yours),

Buddhapest the buddha-best

Inu the probably not-an-emu Inu

And now, a u-turn from the President

After the closures of both TF2 Warehouse and TF2 Outpost, Bazaar.tf announced on October 23rd that it would no longer shut down the whole site, but its trade robots would still be deactivated on December 1st as originally announced.

It's..... Alive![IAWcite.todayMemWeb]

It was a dark and stormy night. Lightning crashed down like flames of azure around the dimly lit Bazaar HQ. Terrifying noises coming from the basement, piercing the silence of the full moon shining from above.

“If we adjust the quantum flux, this could actually work!!!”, Buddhapest laughed maniacally as his hunchback assistant Dave the Bear dialed in the last few switches. The rest of the Bazaar staff staring as whatever would happen within the next few moments surely was to be an abomination, a terror unmatched by even their most vile experiments.

Lightning struck and arced over the massive coils, hitting whatever was strapped beneath that sackcloth in this horrible night. Suddenly, quiet, dark...nothing. Nothing but the mad laughter of Buddhapest, “IT IS ALIIIIIIVE!”

Everyone slowly and carefully approached whatever grotesque monstrosity the mad code-commander had created as he unsheathed this unfathomable horror.

No hands, no eyes, no mouth and yet there was...something...

“It is alive, we are alive….Bazaar.tf is actually alive!”

Yes, you heard it here first my friends. In the light of recent events we have decided to continue service and not shut down our site. We feel as if the old fashioned person-to-person trading has a place in this community and we want to keep it alive now that we are the last site supporting it.

Our Buy Now Bots will still go offline on December 1st so make sure to collect all your items by then or they will be forever lost (like really really lost).

We hope that we can continue to provide a fun trading experience for all our users, new and old, and are looking forward to seeing you on the site.

Here’s to hopefully many more spooky years, sailors!

Cordially (and continually) yours,

Inu “Shiba” Shiba Inu

Buddha “Best” Buddhapest, the buddha-best

Archival

An ArchiveBot job in July and August grabbed around ~300 GB of the site before being aborted on August 21st. As of September 2nd September 14th, posting of new trades was still possible. Another job is in the discussion phase and may begin as soon as new trade posting shuts down.

URL structure

Trades: increments by 1 for each new trade made, such as "/trade/10000", just like TF2 Outpost.

Profiles, comments, inventories, feedback: uses the user's 64-bit Steam ID, such as http://bazaar.tf/profiles/76561198084507703, http://bazaar.tf/comments/76561198084507703, etc.
