Blipfoto is a cloud photo hosting service, established in 2004.[1] The company went into liquidation on March 11 2015[2] although the website continues to operate while a buyer is sought.[3] Described as "a major player in the Slow Web movement" [4], Blipfoto is thought to encompass at least 3.4 million photos[5] and 22 million comments.[6] Blipfoto was bought around March 25, 2015 by Jeffrey Hecktman Chairman and CEO of Hilco Global and Bobby Sager a Director at Gordon Brothers. [7] Blipfoto was bought by Blipfuture CIC in February 2016.[8]
