Imgh.us was an image hoster since at least June 2007[1]. One particular feature that distinguished it from other hosters was that it allowed the upload of Scalable Vector Graphics (.svg/.svgz).

As of 2017-09-08 11:10 UTC, there were 699927 images hosted on imgh.us according to the homepage.

Shutdown

On 2017-07-21, an announcement was posted on the website that the service would close on 2017-09-08.

7/21/17 - Due to things that happened in recent months this site is shutting down and the domain will expire on September 8th, you have until then to download your images that are hosted on here and find them a different host. Uploading will be taken down 2 weeks prior on August 25th. Please download your images while you still can.

As of 2017-09-08 11:10 UTC, however, the domain was not expiring anytime soon based on WHOIS data[2]:

Domain Registration Date: Tue Sep 09 01:14:44 GMT 2008
Domain Expiration Date: Sat Sep 08 23:59:59 GMT 2018
Domain Last Updated Date: Fri Sep 01 00:00:45 GMT 2017

In the early hours of 2017-09-09 (UTC), the server first responded with 404 Not Found, but this was quickly replaced with the following message:

Imgh.us is no longer an image hosting website. If you are coming here because your images don't work anymore, you can still download your images from http://thevid9.com/img_hoster/images2/[image_name] for the next week, folder will be gone on September 16th.

On 2017-09-14, the website came back online, and images were accessible again. This made proper archival possible (see below). The server stopped serving content at some point and returns an empty directory listing as of 2017-12-25.

Archival

Images were served using the original filename provided by the uploader, and no gallery was available, so it was impossible to find all images hosted on the site. We were provided with a list of all existing images some days after the website was online again and were able to archive all (or almost all) images through ArchiveBot (job:crp3ztiwtqw7arz3ap8og2d10).
