Quick note: Wizards of the Coast is guilty of some serious content loss, actually. Back when they gave their forums a major overhaul (I cannot pinpoint a date now, but I think it was when the Gleemax project was shut down--Wikipedia cites August 2009), changing them from vBulletin to something uglier and terrible, a lot of threads disappeared forever. This included years' worth of custom content, extensive guides and compendiums... hard work by dedicated players. Nice to see WotC respects their customers so.
The Internet Archive has some of the lost threads (but tracking down their URLs is tough.) Take a look here, for instance... none of these threads are online anymore.
